Hardly goes any day when I don’t receive a message from somebody asking me for a good hair loss remedy and natural hair regrowth tips that will help to achieve the lost hair volume. But since it’s been more than 2 years since I wrote that, I thought its time for an updated version.
15 Things I Did To Control My Hair Fall And Regrow My Lost Hair
If you have been my Instagram buddy, then you know I was sick for about a month recently. Hence, I faced heavy hair fall and lost a lot of my hair volume. My volume and hair quality deteriorated too.
So here are the few things that I did to stop my hair loss and regrow my lost hair naturally. I honestly hope you benefit from this in some way. So let’s begin!
1.Find The Root Cause Of Hair Fall
The first and the foremost important thing to do is to find out the culprit behind your hair loss. If you know the root cause of your problem than half the battle is won. It makes the solution easier and more doable.

Following are some of the very common reasons that you might experience triggered hair loss:
- Seasonal Change
- Unhealthy scalp
- Hormonal changes/imbalance
- Fallen sick lately
- A reaction of certain hair product
- Using a lot of harsh treatments like hair coloring, hair straightening, smoothing
- Using a lot of heat on your hair for styling
- Improper diet
- Less intake of water and many others.
Like for me, it was sickness and weakness. So along with all the things listed below I made sure to take care of my health and eat better.

2. Hot Oil Treatment
First thing that I did after finding my root cause was to massage my hair regularly with the right oils.
DIY Hair Oil For Hair Fall Control
If you are facing hair fall, then the best oil would be take organic cold pressed coconut oil, castor oil and Rosemary essential oils that’s it. These three ingredients work like a charm to solve all your problems.

3. Give Your Hair Some Steam
I know, I always start my articles with these two but these are damn effective.
After you oil your hair with the right hair oil for your hair type you need to give a little steam to it before washing. Steam ensures that the oil penetrates better and it helps to stimulate the blood circulation. This in turn is extremely beneficial for your hair’s overall health.
Give steam for at least 15 minutes before shampooing your hair. I use the Thermal steam cap for that but you can also use hot towel method for steaming.
4. Use The Shampoo That Aids Your Hair fall
I personally prefer using a shampoo that is free of chemicals like sulfates SLS, parabens and other such harsh chemicals especially when I am facing hair fall. I either prefer making my own egg shampoo at home or using a herbal shampoo that will help me with my hair fall.

But if you are currently set on a shampoo that is working very well for your hair and you are not ready to switch but want it to work for your hair fall just add three drops of Rosemary Essential oil to your shampoo and then use it. 5. Use Conditioner That Is Silicone Free
I personally minimized the usage of conditioners especially the ones that contain silicones. These actually sit on top of your hair shaft and clog the pores which hampers your hair health. So I switched to natural deep conditioners or hair masks.
I used natural deep conditioners like honey and banana mask for my conditioning needs. I also use aloe vera gel mixed with few drops of argan oil and applied it as my conditioner kept it for 10 minutes and then washed it off.

6. Make Herbal Hair Rinses Your Best Friend
You know me, I love using hair rinses. They are simple, they don’t take much of your time and deliver amazing results quicker. So if you are facing hair fall make a hair rinse of Rosemary leaves or green tea just pour on your hair and you are sorted. After using hair rinse don’t wash it off with water.Let it stay on your scalp and work its magic.

7. Switch From Regular Hair Serums To argan oil & rosehip oil
If you know, argan oil is one of the best oils for hair out there. It is very lightweight and it won’t weigh down your hair.
For making my homemade hair serum, I take one tablespoon of argan oil and add three drops of rosehip oil to it. Apply this as my serum and I am sorted.

8. Hair Detox Is The Key To Solve All Your Hair Problems
when we use oils with Mineral oil or hair products with chemicals like silicones, alcohol and what not. They leave a layer of build up on our hair that ultimately results in hair fall. It makes your hair unable to breathe and your entire hair health is hampered.
For that make sure you do a hair Detox at least once or twice every year. This ensures that the chemicals are removed and your hair breaths again.
Also, make sure to use a good clarifying shampoo once a month.
9. Keep Scalp Healthy & Your Hair Will Be Healthier
If you have any scalp issues like the irritated scalp, itchy scalp, flaky scalp, dandruff, dermatitis or any other scalp issue then you need to fix it first in order to control your hair fall from within. It’s like you are strengthening the base for your hair to grow healthier and stronger.

10. Eat 1 Raw Onion & 2 Raw Tomatoes Everyday
I know this might sound weird, but it works. Tomatoes and onion are superfoods for hair fall. They actually help your hair not only grow healthier but grow thicker. It works well to achieve your lost hair volume back.
11. Brush Your Hair With Wide Tooth Wooden Combs
I was shared this time and again that switching to wooden combs is the best thing you can do for your hair. It distributes your natural oils from scalp to your entire hair length and contributes to the health of your hair.
12. Use Hair Masks That Help Control Hair Fall & Hair Regrowth
Hair masks help you get a step closer to your hair goals. These hair masks are the ones that work best when it comes to tackling with hair fall and regrowing your lost hair.

14. Do Balayam Twice A Day
I know this seems like a complete myth but it actually works quite well. Now I can’t vouch for its results on covering gray hair effectively but it definitely helps with hair fall issues.

now I know this seems cliche but it is one of the leading causes of your hair fall. If you are stressed not only it gives you hair fall but it gives you grey hair as a gift too. Whatever it is make sure you don’t stress yourself out too much. You can also use yoga or meditation as your helping hand to lead a stress-free and happy life.
So, these are all the things that actually helped me to control my hair fall and regrow my hair naturally. I have retained back almost 80%of my lost volume and I am sure you will too. Just be patient and consistent with it.
