Hey Guys,

Suffering from hair loss?

Tired of waiting for your hair to grow?

Have you tried using Fenugreek yet?

I have been using fenugreek for my hair since childhood. My mom used to apply fenugreek hair mask on my hair every month.I used to think I have been blessed with naturally thick hair that grows faster (I was really naive back then). But as the time passed I realized it’s my mom and grandma’s hard work and effective home remedies that have helped me over the years to keep my hair healthy and thick.

Benefits Of Fenugreek For Hair

Benefits of fenugreek for hair and How I Use Fenugreek for Hair Growth and Hair Fall?

Fenugreek has been used by Indian women since ancient times for beautiful hair. It is one of those ingredients that have the power to solve all your hair problems. Fenugreek helps in treating dandruff, itchy and flaky scalp, treating hair loss, triggering hair growth, adding that lost shine to your hair and also helps you regrow your lost hair.

How to Use Fenugreek for Healthy Hair?

Today I will share the home remedies using fenugreek for hair growth and hair loss that I learned from my mom and grand ma. I guarantee that it will help you too.

DIY Fenugreek Hair Oil

diy fenugreek hair oil for hair growth and control hair fall

For making this fenugreek hair oil, you will need

Method

Grind fenugreek seeds to make fenugreek powder.

Heat Olive oil using indirect heat method to enhance its nutrients.

Now Take a glass jar and add fenugreek powder. Now pour the hot olive oil on it.

Let the goodness of seeds and oil infuse together for at least 48 hours.

I usually make a larger batch and store it for a month and use it twice weekly.

How To Use Fenugreek Hair Oil?

Simply start by parting your hair in smaller sections and use your finger tips to apply the oil well. Now massage this oil for 5-10 minutes. Let it stay overnight or at least 1 hour for best results. Then shampoo and condition as usual.

Use this hair oil twice a week. You can make this oil in larger batches but make sure to use it within a month.

Homemade Fenugreek Hair Mask

Benefits of fenugreek for hair and How I Use Fenugreek for Hair Growth and Hair Fall?

If you are a regular reader of HCS, you might already know that I use homemade fenugreek hair mask very frequently. This mask actually helps in adding that shine and life to your dull hair and will definitely help in hair loss and regrowth of lost hair.

For making this homemade fenugreek hair mask you will need

  • Fenugreek seeds– 1tsp
  • Aloe Vera Gel-1tsp(preferably  freshly extracted aloe vera gel but you can use store bought too)
  • Yogurt/Curd(unflavored)-1tsp

Method

Soak fenugreek seeds overnight in water.

Next morning, grind fenugreek seeds, aloe vera, and yogurt together and make a smooth paste.

Now strain this hair mask using a muslin cloth. This is an important step and please don’t skip it. Otherwise small chunks will stick to your hair and you will end up spending lot of time, energy and water trying to remove these small chunks.

Now apply this hair mask by parting your hair in small sections. Make sure you apply generously and cover your scalp and hair well. leave the mask on for 2 hours. Now you can rinse the hair mask with normal water then shampoo and condition your hair as usual.

Do this twice a month and you will start loving your hair again!

Fenugreek Hair Rinse

Hair rinse is basically pouring a herb infused water on your hair after you shampoo and leaving it on for 5-10 minutes. Then rinse it off with normal water. You can check out my favorite 5 hair rinse recipes that will solve all your hair problems.

To make fenugreek hair rinse you will need

Method

Soak fenugreek seeds overnight in water.

Next morning use this water as a hair rinse. I usually use the soaked seeds to make the hair mask I mentioned above.

Where To Buy Fenugreek Seeds?

I usually buy mine from a local store. You can also find fenugreek seeds on Amazon.

I have dandruff issue for past one year because of bad maintanance. I lost 75% of hair very quickly in this one year. I am using curry leaves and amla infused sesame hair oil. Coconut oil makes my hair brittle. And zydip lotion for dandruff and itchy scalp.
My question is can i use fenugreek soaked water for final hair rinse and leave it without waiting for 5 to 10 minutes and wash off with normak water like you mentioned in this post. Please give me your suggestion mam. What is the best way i can use fenugreek water. Eagerly waiting for your reply.

  69. April says:

I ABSOLUTELY loved this blog!! You are so humble and you respond to every single comment out of gratitude. I have been searching the net for fenugreek hair oil recipes for some time trying to get it right. Some said to store in dark places while others said direct sunlight (which is better?). Then there was warming the mixture up on the stove but they didn’t explain why it was essential. I LOVED the fact you explained that in order to release the oil’s nutrients optimumly you have to heat it up. The more information about what actually goes into making diys and why they are beneficial I think is the most satifying. I can take that info and use it for another diy down the road and so on. Thank you for being so informative!.

  78. indeed they do! all the benefits and no side effects. just that the home remedies take time to show the results but they are long lasting

  79. no dear one hour is enough. Keeping overnight will make it difficult to rinse off the bitter smell

  80. Controlling hair loss is your aim then go for fenugreek

  81. Atleast a month or more

  82. Try using the fenugreek oil, mask and rinse together. For mask soak fenugreek overnight, grind it to form paste the next morning and add curd. Apply it and leave on for an hour. Rinse and shampoo as usual.

  83. I just grind the seeds in my grinder and then strain it to get super fine powder

  84. fenugreek is one of the best things for hair thickness and achieving desired volume. Definitely do try it

  85. Since its fenugreek a lil bitter smell is bound to be there. But to minimize its effect add 3-4 drops of rosemary, tea tree or lavender essential oil

  86. Definitely is beneficial for your entire body if you consume it in moderation.

  87. Sky is really the limit

  88. Use a good conditioner after wards or apply the rose hair perfume. It will help cover up the smell.
