I recently tried Juicy Chemistry shampoo bar and other products by the same brand. Today I am spilling all the beans whether Juicy Chemistry shampoo bar is good for hair or is it bad? And how were other Juicy chemistry products?
Since childhood, I have heard stories from my mom and grandma and how they used shampoo bars instead of regular shampoos that we use.
Ma always says that those chemical free shampoo bars used to be the best thing she tried to date because they just cleaned the hair and scalp and used to leave hair super manageable and soft.
This always puzzled me.
The Juicy Chemistry shampoo bar was a really new thing for me to try. I honestly picked this baby up from That1too because its ingredients list really intrigued me. And I have heard some fabulous things about how clean and natural this brand is.
It was totally the spur of the moment buy for me.
After using it and finally finishing it, I am sharing my Juicy Chemistry shampoo bar review.
Let’s dive it 🙂
About the brand: Juicy Chemistry
Juicy Chemistry was founded by a couple Pritesh and Megha Asher in 2014 with a goal to provide skin care products with high and rich natural ingredients. You can read more about them here.

My Experience using Juicy Chemistry Fenugreek & Yoghurt Anti-Dandruff Shampoo Bar
As I mentioned above that I bought this because my mom used to tell me all these amazing things as to how effective the natural shampoo bars were. So it was total curiosity that made me buy it.
The Juicy Chemistry shampoo bar is wrapped in a protective plastic which comes in a beautiful cane box. I still preserved this box because it looks super cute. I honestly was super impressed with their packaging.
As soon as I removed the shampoo bar from the plastic cover, I was greeted by a fragrance of essential oils for hair and fenugreek. The fragrance does not linger on for long after you rinse it off.
But if it still bothers you, you can always use homemade hair perfume to make your hair smell good.
I was a shampoo bar virgin, so the first time I tried it, I just lathered it using my hands and then tried washing my hair with it. Now I have long Indian hair and it honestly took way too much time.
So from next time, I simply wet my hair and used the bar directly onto my wet hair and rinsed it off.
For the first time, I felt it didn’t clean my hair and made my hair greasy really fast. But from the second time, I actually got the hang of using the shampoo bar. I noticed that this shampoo bar leaves my hair super soft, clean and my scalp itch-free.
I didn’t see any triggered hair growth though.
It just takes a while to get used to the shampoo bar instead of our regular shampoos. I am now super keen to explore Juicy Chemistry’s rest of the hair care range.

Cons
- A bit on the pricey side

- It takes a while to get used to shampoo bar if you use shampoo
- You need to wash twice if you oiled your hair before
- Makes hair greasy in a day

Juicy Chemistry Body Polish Review (Sweet Orange, Cinnamon and Honey)
Juicy Chemistry body polish comes in cute packaging as I mentioned above and as soon as you open the tub you are greeted by the orangy tangy aroma.
You can also see the natural sugar crystals in it. Honestly it looked like jaggery coated sugar crystals which smelt like orange.
I took a little amount of body polish in a bowl and wet my face and started massaging the body polish on my face. Do this slowly, okay? Otherwise you might get a scratch as the sugar crystals might be a little hard on your face skin.
Be gentle. I massaged it for a couple of minutes and then washed my face with tap water.
My face looked really bright and skin tone looked more even plus the skin felt really soft and radiant.
So, to sum up, my face looked really soft and radiant, it worked as really great tan removal and I just loved the orange smell. Apart from its texture, which I thought was too thick for me, there is nothing that I don’t like about this body polish.
Price and Availability: The body polish costs Rs.250 for 35 gm and is available on Amazon.
Juicy Chemistry Body Butter Review
The body butter comes in tub packing and oh my god it smells just like Jasmine flowers. I just love the fragrance of Jasmine.
Coming back to Juicy Chemistry Body Butter it is light yellow in color and actually looks like butter. You just need a little bit and it spreads really well. My skin tends to get dry really quickly and really badly.
I just can’t get enough of body butters. This body butter by Juicy Chemistry made my skin really soft and the dryness was almost gone in a week.
I just had one complaint that it was a bit too sticky for me. I mean its a body butter, its gotta be sticky but for me it was a bit more.
To sum up, the body butter smells heavenly, cures dryness even the extreme dryness in a week and makes skin super soft and silky but it is a bit sticky for a couple of minutes initially.
If this is something that you are okay with then this is an amazing product for winters for you.
Price and Availability: The body butter costs Rs.200 for 15 gms and is available on Amazon.
Juicy Chemistry Face Scrub Review
This face scrub too smells like orange as the body polish. The scrub comes in dry powdered form and you need to take out a bit and add few drops of water and apply on your face and scrub it in light circular motions. Wash it off and pat dry.
After using it for almost a month, I loved the effects of it on my skin. My skin actually feels more radiant and the scrub is able to remove most of the black and white heads.
However for the stubborn ones you might need to use this scrub at least two times a week.
In short, the revitalizing scrub did actually revitalize my skin and made it more radiant and soft at the same time. The only complaint, that it didn’t remove the extremely stubborn blackheads in one go.
But since, it is completely natural I don’t mind that. One of the must try products from their entire range.
Price and Availability: The face scrub is priced Rs.200 for 35 gm and is available on Amazon.
Pros
- Completely natural and organic products
- Suitable for all skin types
- Makes skin really soft and radiant
- Timely delivery
- Great packing
- You just need little quantity of products for each use and hence the products lasts longer
- Smells wonderful
- Not tested on Animals
Cons
- Not easily available in market
- Some products are bit pricey
Yay or Nay?
I have strong mixed feelings about this one.
It just takes a while to get used to using shampoo bars but this a good product to get your hands on. If you have itchy scalp then you can definitely give this Juicy Chemistry shampoo bar a try. But I guess I am gonna stick with my regular SLS-free shampoo.
And for the other products, I found them to be good but for the price point, I think there are better and affordable options available in the market. Don’t get me wrong, the products are definitely high quality and does deliver good results.
I guess you would have to be your own judge. I however won’t be repurchasing them again.
FAQs
Question: Is Juicy chemistry good for hair?
Answer: Yes, Juicy Chemistry is good for hair because it is an all natural brand that focuses on crafting it products using completely natural ingredients. Its products are free of harmful chemicals in hair products. Although the products are bit on the expensive side.
Question: How long does it take for hair to adjust to shampoo bar?
Answer: It took me more than 3 weeks for my hair to adjust to shampoo bar instead of regular shampoo. I noticed my hair were getting really greasy initially but slowly and steadily my hair did adjust to the shampoo bar nicely.
Also, if you live in a place where you only have hard water for hair washing, then make sure you use a good shampoo with chelating ingredients to remove the mineral deposits and discoloration. And it will take you more than 4 weeks to adjust to shampoo bar.
