On my recent trip to the mall, I picked the Revlon hair color and I figured to protect the hair color better, I bought Revlon outrageous shampoo with it.

It’s been over 5 washes, and I thought I can finally share my two cents on using Revlon outrageous shampoo.

Revlon Outrageous Shampoo Review

The shampoo comes in a really attractive bottle which is very travel-friendly too.

It’s sleek, black, and simply gorgeous.

The shampoo is slightly pinkish in color, I mean a very light pinkish hue and it smells nice. It didn’t trouble my sinuses. Being of a runny consistency, I had to take a bit more shampoo as I am used to using shampoos with a thicker texture.

The shampoo lathers really well are actually very easy to get rinsed off.

My Experience Using Revlon Outrageous Shampoo On My Colored Hair

I picked this shampoo up because of its attractive packaging and I used Revlon’s diy hair color kit. And I thought since it’s from the same brand the hair color protection would be better.

After the first wash, I noticed the shampoo lathered really well. while rinsing, I felt my scalp and hair really clean. But as soon as my hair dried, it started appearing drier and drier. And my scalp felt a lot itchy and dry. My hair color stayed more or less the same after the first wash.

I actually dreaded using the shampoo again fearing it might dry my hair terribly.

But then I read this article about adding things to shampoo as per your need, and I added argan oil to prevent my hair from getting it drier.

But still, it only did help so far. My hair still appeared dry. No amount of conditioner, hair mask, or oil helped in getting hair smooth and manageable.

I still used it a couple of times more just to write this review and so far the name is accurate. I am actually feeling outrageous. My hair is now appearing dry and really damaged and worse of all, my hair color didn’t last either.

Pros

  • Looks really attractive
  • Smells nice
  • Lathers well
  • Gets rinsed off easily
  • Might suit well people with oily hair
  • Travel-friendly packaging
  • Easy availability

Cons

  • Dries hair out real bad
  • Strips off all the natural oil from the scalp
  • Makes scalp itchy
  • Doesn’t protect hair color
  • Not truly cruelty-free

Yay or Nay?

Nay.

Despite adding argan oil to the shampoo, it helped only so far. It still dried my hair and make them appear like a broomstick on my head. And it didn’t protect my hair color either. Within a month, my hair color now appears three shades lighter.

I wouldn’t purchase it ever again. And might finish the remaining shampoo doing pedicures to whiten my toes.
