Today I’m going to review a new hair product I’ve tried. One of the newest products I have used as part of my natural hair routine is this travel-size leave-in conditioner. I received courtesy of Influenster. Though I received this conditioner to test out, my review is completely my own words. I have heard good things about this product but I was skeptical it would work with my hair type. My hair type is 4C and is comprised of tight coils that can often make detangling stressful.
Not Your Mother’s Leave-in Conditioner was new territory for me, as I usually stick to Shea Moisture products.

On the bottle, NYM Leave-in Conditioner claims to help hair grow stronger & longer, moisturize, detangles & smooth hair. This conditioner will help you maintain or have beautiful healthy hair. It can be used daily to ensure the best results. This company doesn’t test on animals and is cruelty free.

The Appearance

Not Your Mother’s Leave-in Conditioner comes in a spray bottle which makes it easily accessible to your hair. It doesn’t have that salon smell a lot of shampoos do, it smells natural and nice.

Ingredients

One of the key ingredients besides water in their formula is Procapil. Procapil is a breakthrough combination of ingredients that’s been clinically proven to help your hair grow stronger and longer faster.

Way to Grow will moisturize, detangle and smooth hair while building the strength you need for beautiful, healthy hair always. This finished product is only tested on our human staff but never on animals.

My Take on the Product

As a naturalista, I pay extra attention into what ingredients are in the hair products that I purchase. An indicator of a hair product that is good for your hair is when the first ingredient listed is water. In addition, avoid products whose ingredients include petroleum because they will clog your hair follicles. It is also important to use hair products that are paraben and sulfate free, these chemicals can dry up your hair and leave it more prone to breakage.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this conditioner works well with my hair type. I sprayed a considerable amount into my hair from my roots to the ends and then styled my hair as desired. It’s important to note that this leave-in conditioner makes detangling so easy, my hair felt soft and was easy to separate when using this conditioner. This conditioner also doesn’t leave a white residue or leave your hair feeling crunchy which I loved. It doesn’t weigh down your hair, instead your hair will feel light after using it.
After applying the leave-in conditioner my go-to hairstyle are two strand twist-outs. These twist-outs take about an hour and I usually leave them in the whole day and take them out the next day. Then, I fluff out the twist outs into a high puff. A high puff is an easy cute style that is perfect for those days when you don’t want to spend a lot of time on your hair or want a cute on the go hairstyle.

Absolute Yay for me. If you are looking for a leave-in conditioner that smells great, doesn’t leave a white residue on your hair, makes your hair soft, is cruelty free, doesn’t contain harmful chemicals for your hair and makes detangling a breeze, Not Your Mother’s Leave- in Conditioner is the hair product for you. When I finish this conditioner, I will be purchasing the full-size version and use it in my weekly hair care routine. Not Your Mother’s hair care products are quite extensive and I will be experimenting with their other products to see if they are just as good.
I hope this review was helpful to you guys, I try to be as thorough as I can be when reviewing a product. Not Your Mother’s Leave-in Conditioner is an inexpensive natural hair care product that works with an array of hair types. It’s important as a woman of color to find hair care products that make your hair healthy and make your hair easy to manage.
