I have terribly dry skin with some pigmentation and discoloration troubles. I read somewhere that vitamin c is ideal to fix these skin woes. This made me try Garnier vitamin C serum.

Garnier Vitamin C Serum Review

garnier vitamin c serum review

Garnier products have always worked well for me.

I tried Garnier’s white complete cream, Its micellar water and their cream-in-oil and this suits me. And Garnier vitamin c serum sheet mask instantly hydrates my skin. The only Garnier product that has disappointed me so far is its ultra blends henna and gloss shampoo.

I was pretty positive that this Garnier face serum is going to be my go-to product.

Let me share what happened after I used it almost twice a day consistently for a month.

Packaging

The Garnier vitamin c serum comes in a transparent glass bottle with a dropper. This had me worried because Vitamin C isn’t at its best in a glass bottle. Its unstable. You need to store it in a dark bottle for its best quality and longer shelf life.

The serum has a nice thick consistency and a mild fragrance. It glides easily on the skin and gets absorbed in minutes without leaving a trace. The fragrance doesn’t last long.

Ingredients

Aqua / Water, Glycerin, Alcohol, Dipropylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Peg/Ppg/Polybutylene Glycol-8/5/3 Glycerin, Niacinamide, Hydroxyethylpiperazine Ethane Sulfonic Acid, Bis-Peg-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Isononyl Isononanoate, Bht, Linalool, Geraniol, Parfum / Fragrance.

Salicylic Acid, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol, Phenylethyl Resorcinol, Adenosine, Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Disodium Edta, Limonene, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Citric Acid, Citrus Limon Fruit Extract / Lemon Fruit Extract, Citrus Junos Fruit Extract, Xanthan Gum, Maltodextrin, Acetyl Trifluoromethylphenyl Valylglycine, Oxothiazolidinecarboxylic Acid, Benzyl Salicylate, Benzyl Alcohol

How To Use?

As per their official website:

Cleanse your face with a mild cleanser( I am using VLCC Tea tree face wash) and pat dry. Take a pea-sized amount of the Vitamin C Booster Serum in your palms. Spread it between your palms without rubbing too much.

Dab the serum all over your face and neck using small and gentle tapping motions. Follow with your moisturizer in the morning and night cream at night. For best results, use daily.

My Experience Using Garnier Vitamin C Serum

I used this Garnier face serum exactly as directed.

I am not that accustomed to using facial serums so despite the product getting absorbed into my skin I felt a sticky feeling. But I got used to it pretty quickly.

After using it for two-three days, my skin started feeling healthier. It had a good bounce and elasticity than before. The difference was not so visible to the naked eye but was something I felt. However, my skin broke out once which never usually happens.

Since emptying this bottle, my skin now looks more hydrated than before. Skin doesn’t breakout now but my pigmentation and discoloration troubles areas it is. It just didn’t have any effect on these.

Pros

  • Attractive packaging
  • Comes with a dropper for a better experience
  • Easy availability
  • Smells good
  • Gets absorbed quickly
  • Budget-friendly
  • Longer shelf life
  • Cruelty-free
  • Does hydrate skin well
  • Minimizes wrinkles
  • Slows down aging

Cons

  • Doesn’t come in a dark-colored glass bottle
  • Packaging isn’t very travel-friendly
  • Contains a long list of chemicals that are harsh on the skin
  • Doesn’t do anything for discoloration or pigmentation

Where To Buy Garnier Vitamin C Serum?

You can easily get it from

No products found.

Yay or Nay?

I loved how hydrated my skin feels, so I am gonna give it a try with one more bottle and see if it does any difference to my other skin troubles.

You can judge by this that if you have just dry skin to hydrate, then this is a good serum to pick. But if you have other skin troubles then you might need to use more products along with this one.
