I often switch my shampoos and conditioners specifically because I love experimenting with different hair products and also because I can share its pros and cons with you guys. So last month I was using shampoo and conditioner by Zilch Cosmetics, solely because of its oh-so-appealing ingredients list.

The Zilch shampoo and conditioner claims to be natural, free of harsh chemicals like SLS, parabens, alcohol and the best of all is cruelty-free. Since I get a lot of requests to share good shampoo and conditioner that is loaded with natural and herbal ingredients and the one that works, so I picked these babies up.

Let’s see how these babies fared…

Zilch Freedom Tango Hair Strengthening Shampoo Review

As I mentioned above the sole reason for picking this shampoo was its ingredients list. It includes all my favorite ingredients like aloe vera, coconut oil, amla extract, soapnut extract, shea butter, and even lemon essential oil to name a few.

The shampoo has a gel-like consistency and has a lemony fragrance to it which lingers on for a while after you use it. Due to its missing SLS, the shampoo lathers less compared to your regular shampoo but does lather enough to get your hair cleaned effectively in one go.

My Experience Using Zilch Shampoo

I usually oil my hair before shampooing and I feared that since it is a sulfate-free shampoo, I might have to wash my hair twice to get it cleaned effectively. But to my surprise, it removed the oil and left my hair squeaky clean from the first wash itself. My hair felt quite manageable, silky, and frizz-free for the next two days.

My scalp felt a little itchy though after its first use but from the second time, I faced no such issues.

After using this baby for over a month, I feel the shampoo is really good. It cleans hair well, it’s gentle while it does its job and it makes hair more manageable after every use.

It is also safe to be used for color-treated hair, it won’t strip off your hair color.

A good sulfate-free shampoo to get your hands on.

Pros

  • Contains natural ingredients like aloe vera, coconut oil, soapnut extracts to name a few
  • Smells nice
  • Free of harsh chemicals like SLS, parabens, alcohol
  • Cruelty-free
  • Makes hair manageable and frizz-free
  • Gentle on hair
  • Perfect for dry, curly, and color-treated hair

Cons

  • A bit on the pricey side
  • Not easily available in local stores

Zilch Tango Twice Conditioner Review

Like the shampoo, I thought of trying its conditioner for its ingredients too.

The Zilch conditioner claims to be an Ayurvedic formulation made with rose water, coconut oil, bitter apricot oil, olive oil, vegetable glycerin, beeswax to name a few. I come from a dry hair family and these hydrating ingredients list had me sold.

I immediately added it to my cart.

The conditioner has a liquidy yet creamy consistency and it spreads effectively and easily on your hair. It has essential oil’s fragrance as well which stays on for a while after it is rinsed off. I liked the fragrance of the shampoo better compared to the conditioner.

My Experience Using Zilch Tango Twice Conditioner

Although the conditioner is specifically meant for relaxed hair(which I don’t) but I have really dry hair that requires a lot of love and care. Since the conditioner contained a lot of hydrating ingredients, I couldn’t resist and picked it up.

The first time, I used this baby, it worked like butter gliding and was super easy to rinse off as well. My hair hardly felt any frizz and was super soft to touch.

After using this Zilch conditioner for over a month, I am loving its results on my hair. It does what a conditioner is supposed to and does it perfectly. It makes hair manageable, soft, and leaves hair frizz-free. The best part of it was my hair felt tangled-free.

It is perfect for dry, color-treated, curly, and relaxed hair. A good option to consider.

Pros

  • Loaded with natural as well as hydrating ingredients
  • Perfect for dry hair, curly hair, color-treated hair, and relaxed hair
  • Makes hair frizz-free, soft and manageable
  • Free of silicones, parabens, and other harsh chemicals
  • Cruelty-free

Cons

  • I didn’t like its fragrance much but its not so strong to deal with
  • A bit on the pricey side
  • Not easily available in local stores

I honestly don’t know how I landed on these babies but I am in love with them. The combo has not only made my hair soft to touch but also I have seen my hair appear healthier.
