Have you tried the Halo nourishing shampoo yet? The Halo egg shampoo is a clarifying shampoo.

Clarifying shampoos are the ones that actually removes the build up from your hair. Basically it detoxifies your hair and scalp by removing all the build-up from excessive heat, styling, oiling, trying different products, sun rays, pollution and even from trying different hair masks.

Yes guys, trying too many products and diy remedies on your hair actually causes a build up on your hair and scalp and changes your hair porosity.

As you know I try too many products just to review them for all you guys, sometimes these products leaves my hair unruly, dull and full of damage. That is when I use a clarifying shampoo. The one that I am currently using is a Halo Nourishing Shampoo with Egg Protein.

Halo Nourishing Shampoo Review: With Advantages & Disadvantages

It is a shampoo which was launched in India for women who used to oil their hair daily as a method of clarifying and removing excess oils.

HAlo Nourishing Shampoo with Egg ProteinsLets begin with the review

It comes in a bottle of 1000 ml which is basically transparent and you can check out the product and its consistency. It has a twisted cap and its actually pretty easy to use. The big size makes it a bit difficult to carry around while travelling.

Halo nourishing shampoo is a thick textured shampoo which looks like egg yolk but trust me it does not smell anything like egg. It has pleasant fruity kinda smell which stays on your hair after washing for about half an hour. The smell  is not that strong to trouble even those with sensitive noses.

Halo egg shampoo is a clarifying shampoo and clarifying shampoos are well bad mouthed for making your hair dry but basically this is what they are meant to do, i.e. remove the excess build up of products and damage.

So, don’t use it as a regular shampoo but use it once a week or once a month if you see any of these signs :

  1. If you style your hair a lot with heat and different products using this shampoo or basically any clarifying shampoo comes handy.
  2. Few days back I wrote a post on tips you should keep in mind while coloring your hair, where I shared a tip that for long lasting color your need to shampoo your hair atleast 2 days before coloring. Well it gives much more results if you wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo.
  3. If you have fine or straight hair and you are looking for adding a bit of volume and bounce to your hair, this shampoo does it really well.
  4. If you have extremely greasy and oily hair then this is the shampoo you should opt for.
  5. Get rid of damage of chlorine water.
  6. Most importantly if you have tried everything in hair care and nothing is showing any results.
  7. If you see white flakes on your scalp.

  • It is a great clarifying shampoo.
  • It contains egg proteins which are really good for your hair.
  • It gets rid of white flakes from your scalp.
  • It smells wonderful.
  • Adds shine to your hair.
  • Adds volume.
  • Extremely affordable.

  • It is not travel friendly.
  • Can’t use it on daily basis.
  • Washes natural oils from scalp.
  • It contains Sulfates in more quantity than other shampoos. (well it is a clarifying shampoo it is obvious.)
  • Not easily available in the market.

Yay or Nay?

Definitely. I am using it for past three months whenever I feel the need for detoxifying my hair and scalp.

Overall Halo shampoo is good for your hair if you use it in moderation and as a clarifying shampoo to remove build-up. Halo shampoo is bad for your hair if you start washing your hair with it daily, its gonna cause protein overload and its clarifying formulation will leave you with dry and damaged hair.

So, consider these points above before making a purchase.

Hi Bharat, you should never shampoo your hair daily. This results in stripping off natural oils from your scalp. And since this is a clarifying shampoo, using it twice is month is more than enough. It helps in removing build up. Other times, when you wash your hair use a shampoo that is actually suitable for your hair type. Here is a quick post that will help you find the perfect shampoo for your hair.

Hope this helps. HAve a lovely day!!!

Hi Himi, If you are facing excessive hair fall, you should try this diy hair oil recipe for hairfall. It works really great. Plus try incorporating Carrots, tomatoes and romainine lettuce in your diet. These will help you combat your hair fall and also help you regrow your hair. I would suggest to also use a clarifying shampoo twice a month. This will surely help.

Here is the recipe to my personal fav diy hair oil for hairfall. It contains onions but when mixed with the oils, it won’t afffect your eyes or nose.

  40. I use clarifying shampoo also whenever I feel that my hair gets too oily even with all the washing. I don’t know of any brands we have here that has egg in the ingredients. Having it seems more effective. I hope we’d have that here too. πŸ™‚

  41. Xavier B says:

I’m pretty basic with shampoo myself. As long as it smells nice, it’s fine for me Haha. But this one sounds very complete and specific. I’ll definitely recommend it. So in the end, smashing an egg on top of the head is healthy for the hair !

  42. Never heard about egg yolk for hair. Thanks for that truly informative post about this specific treatment for falling hair. As we grow older, that’s one thing we want to avoid and we find ways to prevent or delay hair fall. Might try this one of these days and see the results.

  43. Charm Gamboa says:

I am currently struggling with dry hair because of hair colors and I’m in search of a good shampoo to nourish my hair. Your review makes this product effective and I hope can find this one here in the Philippines.

  44. This is the first time I’ve heard of such shampoo. I don’t think this is available in the Philippines though. Your post remind me of what my great aunts tell me that during their time they use natural ingredients as shampoo or soap. I’m not surprised that this shampoo uses egg proteins to revitalize our hair.

  45. Marge Gavan says:

I think I need that shampoo because I am suffering from hair fall and I need something that would help me strengthen my hair. I’m in the Philippines though so I am not sure if Halo is available here, but I think it’s worth looking into. It’s okay if I don’t use it everyday, because I don’t really shampoo my hair everyday, I shampoo at least 3x a week then everyday I use conditioner.

  46. Klaudia says:

Great review , valuable information . But what is the price ? I know Rs. 280 , what is RS ??? Eggs are anyway good for the hair , I have used some home made hair masks made from eggs , leaves your hair shiny and silky .

  47. sabine says:

I’ve heard a lot about the benefits of eggs for your hair. It’s a bit strange to me to put an egg in your hair. But if it’s working, why not? I have to try this out, you really convinced me!

    XO Sabine

  48. Kara says:

Loved your in depth review! I’ve heard of adding eggs to conditioner but never shampoo. This is pretty interesting and would be great for someone who needs more protein in their hair
