Dove shampoos aren’t truly cruelty-free or vegan.
It contains a lot of harsh chemicals in its formulations like SLS, parabens, silicones, and even the worst one being DMDM hydantoin.

Is Dove Cruelty-Free?
No, despite what it claims, Dove isn’t truly cruelty-free as it continues to sell its products in China where animal testing is a mandatory law. So there is a high probability that dove shampoos and other products may be tested on animals in China.
Is Dove Vegan?
No, Dove isn’t a vegan brand. If you are someone who prefers their shampoos to be 100%vegan then you need to look elsewhere for a good vegan shampoo.

There is no right or wrong here. If you have been using Dove shampoo that suits your hair well then why change? Continue with it. But take into account their harsh ingredients and always check the ingredients list beforehand just to be sure.

Also, if you have a new year hair resolution that you will go cruelty-free then dove shampoo might not be a fit as it isn’t truly cruelty-free. If your shampoo using only vegan formulations is important to you, then you need to look elsewhere.
