I recently got my hands on this baby. Yes, finally I have the most requested product review that you all wanted, Biotique Green Apple Fresh Shampoo & Conditioner.

Since most of you wanted to know whether the combination of shampoo plus conditioner together in one bottle would be able to create the magic and deliver the ideal results or not? Well, I have used this shampoo and conditioner on my dry hair as well as my friend(she has oily hair).

Packaging Of Biotique Shampoo

The Biotique green apple shampoo comes in very simple yet very appealing packaging. The use of dark green color really adds to the beautiful fresh appearance. The bottle is however not travel-friendly.

It leaks real bad!

The shampoo is beautiful fresh green in color and smells like green apple. I found the fragrance very refreshing which lingered on for next couple of on my hair after washing making my hair smell good.

Ingredients & Product Claims

The ingredients list of this Biotique shampoo really intrigued me. You know how much I believe in using more and more natural ingredients or products with natural ingredients. However, I felt the shampoo lathered extremely well like it had SLS or a strong cleansing agent but the ingredients list didn’t have any such ingredient listed. 

It also gives off vibes that the fragrance is artificially added, I might be wrong about this but I have used way too many products in my life that I feel it isn’t the natural fragrance of the ingredients but an added one. 

My Experience Using Biotique Green Apple Shampoo And Conditioner

As you all know I have dry hair. The Biotique green apple shampoo plus conditioner is ideally meant for oily hair(though they claim its for all hair types but I strongly disagree!) but the concept of shampoo plus conditioner in one beautiful bottle actually intrigued me to try it. Plus you all wanted me to share my experience using this Biotique shampoo on dry hair.

The shampoo actually lathers very beautifully and you need very less amount of it to wash your entire hair and scalp. It leaves your scalp clean and the fragrance adds to the fresh feeling. I felt that I needed to use conditioner afterward since my hair falls in the dry category and they got a bit frizzy and dull after using it.

The next time I used this shampoo, I opted for Indian hair oiling routine, it is one of the long Indian hair secrets that I inherited growing up!

So I with castor oil and mahabhringraj oil. Followed it up with scalp massage using inversion method for hair growth and some 5 minute quick pampering session with my thermal steam cap so that the oils would penetrate better into my my hair shafts as well as scalp and inducing better blood flow.

This Biotique green apple shampoo did a fabulous job and removed the oil completely without leaving any traces of oil in my hair. This time I was able to ditch the conditioner and my hair weren’t that frizzy. But still felt dry to touch.

My Friend’s Experience Using Biotique Green Apple Shampoo & Conditioner

My friend has oily hair. Her scalp gets oily and her hair starts getting greasy from the very next day. She actually follows my hair care routine to keep her oily and greasy scalp in control.

She was very excited when I requested her to be my guinea pig and try out this Biotique shampoo. After using this shampoo for a week(specifically she used it three times a week), she shared her experience with me.

The shampoo did a good job in removing the excessive oil and her hair felt fresh and bouncy after ages. She didn’t need any conditioner afterward. She said it really was a good shampoo for oily hair.

• For dry hair type, I wouldn’t recommend you to opt for this shampoo
• Not ideal for color treated or chemically treated hair
• The shampoo and conditioner in one bottle didn’t work well for me.

Yay or Nay?

I have mixed feelings. 

The Biotique green apple shampoo contains the goodness of green apples, hibiscus, bhringraj and many good ayurvedic herbs that benefit your hair for the good. It is free of SLS and other harmful ingredients that you find in most shampoos. 

However, it was too harsh for my dry hair. I would not recommend you to try this green apple shampoo if you have dry hair, curly hair, lifeless hair, brillo pad hair, damaged hair or processed hair. It might just steal the remaining nourishment and moisture from your hair. Also, the conditioner part of this shampoo didn’t had any noticeable difference on my hair.

But if you have oily hair then this is a good shampoo to try. Also if you are one of those people who hates using hair conditioner then this might work for you.
