I have very dry and damaged hair. I get split ends the moment I cut my hair.

So in quest for the perfect shampoo to treat my dry and damaged hair, this time I landed on Sunsilk Nourishing Soft & Smooth Shampoo. Here is my in-depth review of Sunsilk nourishing soft & smooth shampoo after using an entire bottle of this shampoo.

Let’s dive in 🙂

Sunsilk Nourishing Soft & Smooth Shampoo

This Sunsilk yellow shampoo claimed to be one of the best solutions to get soft and smooth hair. It contains ceramide egg complex and almond oil which together claims to treat driest of hair.

Sunsilk nourishing soft & smooth shampoo comes in beautiful and attractive bright sunny yellow colored bottle which mind you is not at all spill-proof. It leaked in my bag while I took it on my trip.

The Sunsilk yellow shampoo is off white in color and contains pretty sparkly white particles.

It has a typical Sunsilk fragrance. It has a runny consistency but it lathers really well and leaves hair and scalp clean in one go.

My Experience Using Sunsilk Nourishing Soft & Smooth Shampoo

sunsilk nourishing soft & smooth shampoo review

I picked this Sunsilk yellow shampoo with a lot of high hopes. I figured let’s see if this would change my pigtail hair to beautifully silky hair.

This Sunsilk nourishing soft & smooth shampoo did a fine job for the first few times.

It lathered well, removed the greasiness and dirt completely from my hair and scalp leaving my hair feel fresh, cleans and bouncy. But I did felt the need to use my hair conditioner after using this shampoo. Because my hair felt a bit dry and unmanageable.

After the first time, my hair felt nice and bouncy. I mean the frizz wasn’t completely gone but my hair felt pretty tamed and smooth. But after 4-5 washes, I started noticing hair fall.

I started losing 15-20 hair strands every time I used to shampoo or even brush my hair. Also despite using the shampoo, I had to reach out to the conditioner every time to make my hair manageable.

So overall, I would say if you have normal to oily hair, then you can go for it but I don’t think it does any good to very dry hair or even curly hair for that matter.

Summary

Shampoo lathers really well and smells beautiful. It cleans hair and leaves hair feel soft at first. However the effects aren’t long lasting. And you do need a good conditioner if your hair is dry.

Yay or Nay?

Nay.

I tried it searching for something to make my hair silky but in turn, it added to my troubles and gave me hair fall. So I wouldn’t buy it again.

The shampoo however is good for keeping greasiness away and leaving your weighed down hair with some good volume to flaunt. I people it will work really well for people with oily hair despite people with dry hair as advertised.

But be your judge because it suits a lot of people really well. Seems like I just ain’t one of them.
