What is henna for hair?

But when mixed with water to create a paste and then applied on hair and skin, it creates a rich, orangey copper tone. Henna is a natural hair dye that can reduce premature graying, soften hair, and support hair health.

What is indigo for hair?

Indigo is a natural dye derived from the leaves of the Indigo plant. It is a natural hair dye mask that helps achieve jet black hair. It is usually applied either in combination with henna hair mask or after henna hair mask to achieve dark hair color.

Henna hair mask helps achieve reddish orange tones on grey hair. And by applying indigo hair mask on the henna colored hair, its dark blue hair color helps achieve dark brown or black hair color.

Henna and Indigo Ratio: If you are looking to achieve jet black hair keep consistency of henna to indigo equal, i.e, 50:50 but if you are aiming to achieve brown color and not black then keep consistency of henna to indigo of about 2:1.

To make henna and indigo hair mask both needs to be soaked separately.

Start by soaking henna powder in warm water and add some lime juice. Set this soaked henna hair mask aside for at least 7 hours. This is because henna releases its dye slowly.

Soak indigo hair mask with a pinch of salt and warm water for half an hour before application.

You can apply henna hair mask before and follow it up with indigo as a part of a two step process.

But you can also apply henna and indigo hair mask by mixing them together as a part of one step process too.
