Don’t edge away if I tell you the beauty secret to my dark thick long hair is the Sunsilk black shampoo.
Growing up I totally got sold at the advertisements of this particular product. They emphasize the use of natural ingredients and also, the model showcases shiny hair after its use mainly achieved by the use of the herb mix in the shampoo. Hence, I picked it up.
Sunsilk is a brand of shampoo started by Unilever in 1954. Sunsilk is mainly known for hair care products and its products are sold in over 60 countries. One of the first few brands to hit the market with shampoo, and introducing different colors for a different blend and hair quality Sunsilk as a brand is known to all.
Sunsilk Black Shampoo Review
Appearance: It comes in a tall pour-it-yourself traditional plastic bottle containing 340ml of the shampoo and the highlighted ‘Amla-Pearl complex’ drop on it. With an old school branding and a mauve reflective sticker with the font and texts on the face of it, Sunsilk continues to sell well due to its traditional branding. The content has a strong whiff of herbs, and the smell is very zesty.
Directions to use: Pour a small amount of shampoo on your palm, add some water to it and dilute the shampoo. Wet hair and nicely spread the shampoo liquid to every part of the hair. Rub and form a good lather. Leave the shampoo in your hair for 2 minutes and rinse. Towel dry and achieve a natural shiny texture.
Price and shelf life: Cheapest that a nourishing shampoo like this would cost. Sunsilk is only known to reduce prices rather than increasing them over course of time. A bottle containing 340ml which was earlier priced at Rs.204, is now priced at Rs. 165 only.
My Experience Using The Sunsilk Black Shine Shampoo
When it comes to beauty products especially my hair I’ve always followed the theory of Old is Gold. Almost 2 decades and I’ve been loyal to this brand, color and make of the shampoo and its results have never ceased to amaze me. A concoction created with the help and expertise of the famous hair shine expert from Hollywood, Mr. Jamal Hammadi.
The Amla(Gooseberry) Pearl complex, rejuvenates the hair leaving the hair looking more shiny, voluminous and naturally beautiful. Every time I need to head out for a party, a hair wash with Sunsilk black is all I need. The hair looks so luminous after a fresh wash, that I’ve never really had to use serum or jelly to make it glow. A little quantity does the magic, and you may or may not feel the need to use conditioner every time.
I use this shampoo thrice a week for my long hair. You may also use it as desired, depending on the hair length and if you can manage to follow it up with conditioner.
This shampoo is my go-to hair care product, which not only cleanses the scalp but also strengthens the roots and works on the volume of your hair. Overall, I can say is that it lathers well but has chemicals along with organic ingredients and is great for all hair types.
