Have you tried Mahabhringraj hair oil yet?
If you have been following HCS, then you know, I use this hair oil in my diys left, right and center. Today, I am sharing my two cents on this hair oil and how I use it.
Mahabhringraj Hair Oil Review
Appearance: The oil comes in a dark green colored plastic bottle which looks very boring. I initially found the packaging so bogus that I was resistant to give it a try. But as they say, don’t judge a book by its cover. I finally bought it for the ingredients it contains.
Price and shelf life: It costs Rs.279 for 200ml and has a long shelf life of 3 years.

My Experience using Mahabhringraj Hair Oil
As I mentioned above, I picked this baby up solely for its use of interesting ayurvedic ingredients. The first time I opened it, I was greeted by a strong herbal fragrance which didn’t trouble me at all but it might trouble you if you have a sensitive nose.
The oil is dark green in color and has normal to a thick consistency. It glides very smoothly on to your hair. I heat my oil using a double boiler method to enhance its nutrients and then applied it by parting my hair in very small sections. Than massaged my hair very slowly for 10 minutes and kept the oil overnight. The next morning, I gave my hair a lil steam using my steam cap which helps the oil penetrate better into the hair shafts. And then moved on to shampoo my hair.
The oil got rinsed off in one go and my hair felt very soft and nourished. I still needed my hair conditioner to tame my frizzy locks.
I personally have found that this oil though takes a lil time to deliver effective results but it definitely helps to control hair fall. My personal way of using this oil is by mixing it with onion oil, vitamin e oil, and castor oil. You can check out the detailed recipe of the hair fall control hair mask here.
Overall, if you have basic hair problems like mild dandruff, lil dry hair, lil hair fall or just looking for a good hair oil to get your hands on then you can definitely give this baby a try.
